In the social area

When the workshop is in operation, the social area is available to Shed members for rest and relaxation. Health and education seminars as well as regular Shed meetings are also held in this area.

The Management Committee occasionally organises public talks on matters of local interest in the social area.

At all other times, the social area is available for use by approved community groups. Permissible times include weekday evenings up to 10pm and certain times at weekends.

An example of this usage is an established community organisation that wants to hold a small-group meeting for some purpose. Another example is an informal group such as a book club or quilting group that needs somewhere central to meet.

Any group wishing to use the social area should contact the Shed’s Community Liaison Officer. The group’s leader will be required to sign a written undertaking to respect Shed neighbours and indemnify the Shed against possible damages.
